Commission a drawing!

What exactly do you get when you commission a portrait?

The cost of commissioning a drawing is based on a number of different factors.

When I receive a commission I allocate a specific amount of time to each particular drawing. On average it takes 25 hours to complete a single head study on A4 size paper. I never work on two portraits at the same time as I like to ensure that each drawing is done properly.

As a professional artist and designer I use only top quality materials to achieve a result that looks good and will age well. I therefore, use Canson Bristol board which is a heavy, very smooth, white paper that shows the graphite detail well. I also use a range of drawing pencils and clutch pencils to achieve a fine detailed result.

Lastly, I have all of my commissions professionally double mounted which is the correct way to present a drawing. This is to ensure that when the picture is framed it is held away from the glass and doesn't smudge. The mounts add approx 10cm border to the finished picture.
If for any reason you do not wish to have your drawing mounted - please contact me when you place the order to inform me.

And that's it - all you have to do now is have a look at the table to have an idea of what you'd like, then contact me to dicsuss further!
